  Pabsy is a five-piece trance-fusion jamband based in San Francisco, crafting expansive sonic journeys that blur the lines between funk, psychedelia, electronic grooves, and improvisational rock. Known for pushing musical boundaries with adventurous original compositions, the band channels the exploratory spirit of jam culture while building a sound that feels both futuristic and deeply organic.

  Drawing inspiration from acts like The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Papadosio, STS9, The Grateful Dead, and Phish, Pabsy blends pulsing trance rhythms, deep funk pockets, and kaleidoscopic improvisation into long-form sets that evolve night after night. Their live performances are immersive experiences—layered grooves, soaring melodies, and spontaneous jams that carry audiences through hypnotic peaks and cosmic detours.

  At the heart of Pabsy’s creative universe is an unfolding rock opera set in a surreal post-apocalyptic world. In this mythos, rival factions of humanoid roaches—known as the Blattodeans—and mysterious frog civilizations battle for control of the legendary City of Blue Ribbon. Strange technologies and forgotten relics—uranium titanium cores, rogue nanobots, and fractured memories of a lost world—shape the story’s strange landscape.

  Guiding listeners through this universe are eccentric characters like Pabsy Bon Roach, the unlikely hero navigating amnesia and destiny, and Tim the Mothman, a cryptic figure hovering between prophecy and chaos. The saga unfolds across songs like shifting chapters, weaving themes of transformation, memory, and the symbolism of the color wheel into sprawling musical narratives.

  The result is something epic, strange, and unmistakably Pabsy: a psychedelic jamband odyssey where funk grooves meet trance pulses, improvisation meets storytelling, and every show opens another portal into their ever-expanding world.
