We’re bringing a 2-hour set packed with timeless ‘70s funk and disco classics, the songs that somehow every generation knows by heart, loves to sing, and can’t help but dance to. We love taking these legendary songs and looking for opportunities to open them up into extended improv jams, giving the music room to breathe while keeping the dance groove locked in.
That makes it the perfect pairing with our friends Loma Alta, who will keep the vibe rolling with their own improvisational style, weaving together original music and adventurous Dead/Phish-inspired jams. It’ll be one of those nights where the dance floor never really gets a chance to cool off.
FUNK NUGGET
Funk Nugget is a Marin based 70’s cover band who play quintessential funk and disco tunes that make it easy for anyone to get out on the dance floor. Our shows pay homage to the best of the era, delivering a high-energy dance party vibe, with long sets, unexpected mashups, and extended jams that aim to keep the groove alive.

Original soul funk and psychedelic rock in the spirit of Santana, Expect deep grooves and soaring guitar–doing it to you all night!
From the southern slopes of Loma Alta Open Space Preserve in the Heart of Marin County comes a true funky original. Santana in the 1970’s vibe: deep Latin and soul grooves, soaring guitar, vocal harmonies, funk-rock fusion arrangements, and epic jams. Led by Chris Detrick (Chum) and Jared Baird (Harold Imperiled), and featuring badass Julia Chanin on saxophones and vocals, Loma Alta is a powerful new sound rooted in the glorious history of Bay Area music.
