STARCHILDJR
& GROOVEALLEGIANCE FUNK COLLECTIVE
Starchildjr is a guitarist, vocalist, and performer who carries the spirit of funk into the next generation. As part of the Parliament Funkadelic family, he brings a personal connection to the music’s legacy and a sound shaped by his own voice, guitar, and commanding stage presence.
With his band Grooveallegiance, Starchildjr turns that spirit into a live experience built on deep grooves, audience connection, and the freedom to move. His mission is to keep funk alive, growing, and reaching new listeners while honoring the music and people who made it possible.
A little bit of Funk, and a little bit of Funkadelic.
The guitar growls. The groove digs in. Starchildjr steps to the mic—and the room becomes part of the show. Get ready for stinging guitar riffs, soulful vocals, psychedelic swagger, and deep-pocket rhythms that turn a head nod into a full-body commitment. With his band Grooveallegiance, Starchildjr brings the grit, joy, and glorious musical freedom of P-Funk to life: guitar phrases that strut, grooves that stretch out, and an electric connection between the stage and everybody moving in front of it.
Born Garrett Shider, Starchildjr is a guitarist, vocalist, and performer from the Parliament Funkadelic family, carrying the spirit of funk into the next generation. His sound pairs a personal connection to that legacy with his own voice, expressive guitar playing, and commanding stage presence.
Come ready to dance, holler, and put a little more wiggle in your walk. Starchildjr is bringing the funk—and you’re part of the groove … let’s get down.
